Common questions
What It Costs to Get It Flowing
Straight answers on pricing, because guessing at cost is the last thing you need mid-blockage.
Do prices change once you start?
No. You get a fixed price before any tool touches the drain, and that price is what you pay. If the job turns out different once we're inspecting, we stop and requote before doing anything extra.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No. $0 call-out fee, every visit, whether it's a simple clear or a full CCTV inspection. You only pay for the work you approve, and free quotes mean looking costs nothing either.
What does "$50 off when you book online" cover?
Submit the online booking form rather than ringing us and $50 comes straight off the final price. That's on top of the quote you approve first; it's for jobs booked that way, not ones arranged over the phone.
How do quotes work?
A plumber inspects the drain, explains what's wrong in plain English, and gives you a fixed price before any work starts. No estimate that grows once the job's underway, no surprises on the invoice.
Common questions
Licensing and Responsibility
Who's qualified to touch your drains, and what you're covered for.
Do wipes really block drains?
Yes, even ones marked flushable. They hold their shape long after toilet paper would have dissolved, catching on root growth or a damaged joint in older Mascot pipework until the line clogs solid.
What warranty do I get?
Every drain we clear carries a lifetime labour warranty. If it's not right, we come back. No questions, no cost, no expiry date.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Every plumber works under NSW Plumbing Licence #275278C, holds Master Plumber accreditation, and is covered by $20 million public liability insurance. Ask to see it on the day if you'd like.
What is an overflow relief gully and why does it matter?
It's the grated outlet near your house, usually at ground level, designed to release sewage safely outside if the line backs up. A blocked or paved-over gully sends the problem indoors instead of out.
Common questions
How Fast We Get to You
Response times and how booking actually works.
What happens after I call?
You get a plumber on the line straight away, tell them what's happening, and a van starts heading your way. On-site in 30 minutes guaranteed, then a proper look at the drain before anyone lifts a tool.
How fast can you get here?
On-site in 30 minutes guaranteed, in Mascot and the surrounding Bayside area. That's a real commitment, not marketing, and it holds for a burst-drain emergency at any hour.
What counts as a drain emergency?
Sewage backing up into the house, water pooling around the overflow relief gully, or a toilet that won't stop overflowing. Anything actively flooding a bathroom, laundry or yard counts, and it jumps the queue.
Are you really open 24/7?
Yes, 365 days a year, Christmas Day and long weekends included. Someone local answers the call directly, at 3am the same as 3pm.
Common questions
Local to Mascot
The questions that only make sense once you know this suburb.
How local are you, really?
Mascot is part of our regular run, not a suburb we drive in for occasionally. Our plumbers know the station-side towers, the shops on Etherden Walk and the pre-war streets tucked in behind Botany Road.
Do tree roots really get into pipes here?
Less than in leafier suburbs, but it happens. Especially where older earthenware sewer lines run near street trees off General Holmes Drive, perished joints in pre-1940 pipework give roots an easy way in.
Do you work on strata and apartment blocks?
Yes. Most of Mascot is now high-rise apartments built since the 2000s around the station. Strata call-outs are a regular part of our week, alongside the pre-war cottages and semis that remain.
Why do Mascot's older drains keep blocking?
The surviving pre-1940 cottages and semis often still run original earthenware sewer lines. Perished joints let in sand, roots and debris, and Mascot sits on the loose Botany sand beds that make it worse.
